My prayers and thoughts go out to the rector family.
Mostly, I would like to be remembered
As someone who was passionate for life.
The days of unsought ecstasies are numbered,

However long we linger in the light.
I was one who cultivated wonder,
Less of one contented to explain,
Delighted by the promises of hunger,
Enduring for their joy the years of pain.
Gifts I had aplenty: Some I savored,
Others sacrificed for others' needs.
Remember me as someone who was favored,
Despite constraints, to tumble in the leads,
Ocean to what winds I could not be,
Nightrider through what worlds I could not see.

Rich-
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. It is extremely difficult to lose a parent, and in addition, he was your mentor and business partner and your friend. I hope that your many fond memories will help in filling these voids. I have no doubt that he will continue to guide and support you from above.
We as individuals, and as an industry, were fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Dale as a leader and as a friend.

Phoenix, AZ 85018-3563

Dear Rich,

I have learned about the passing of your dear father, Dale Rector. I know that many others have written to express condolences on the death of your father, but I wanted to write both personally and as president of Habitat for Humanity to express both condolences and gratitude for his wonderful life.

I know that you and other members of the family plus a host of friends are so aware of the blessing of Dale Rector's life. He not only founded a great company but lived a victorious and beautiful life.

In the autumn days of his life, he took up artistic painting and auctioned them off at each annual convention of Realty Executives with profits going to Habitat for Humanity. I was privileged to see some of his beautiful paintings when I was at your annual convention in south Florida a couple of years ago.

I know that your dear father will be tremendously missed, Rich. At the same time, I know that you and all the others there at company headquarters are rejoicing because of the many years you had with this man in your midst and for the many contributions he made to your personal lives, to the welfare and well being of the company and to so many other causes and to so many other people. May God rest the soul of that beautiful man in peace.

Finally, let me conclude with one gigantic word of gratitude from me personally and from all of Habitat for Humanity because of what Dale Rector meant to us. I’m sure that we will never know completely all of the impact that he had on so many people that resulted in benefits to the Habitat for Humanity ministry and to so many other good things.

I close extending best regards to you, to your whole family and to your associates in Realty Executives.

Sincerely and with condolences,

Millard Fuller

Founder and President

To the Rector Family,

Although I did not know Dale intimately, his life is an inspiration to all of us. Not only an innovator in our industry, but also as a family man. I loved his enthusiasm and support for Realty Executives. He always made you feel like the only boundaries that you had on achievement are the one’s that you place on yourself.

I know that this is a difficult time for you, but take solace in the fact that he is now in God’s hands and still watching over you.

Please accept our heartfelt feelings of compassion and love.

Rich, June and Family,

Dale's impact on real estate has been felt around the world. His ideas empowered Realtors worldwide and changed the dynamic between the client and company. It demonstrated that the primary relationship is between the client and the "Executive". He created a family environment in which our confidence and pride as Realtors could grow and be used to better service our clients. Please accept the heartfelt condolences of all of the Executives at Realty Executives Premiere.

Dear Rich, June and family,

I so wanted to be at Dale's memorial on Saturday but was sick all weekend with the flu. Please forgive me.

I adored Dale. He was a true gentle-man. I treasure the many years we worked together when my firm handled Realty Executive's Advertising.

I remember how thrilled he was when someone in my business finally "understood" how special the Realty Executive Agents were. I did - but more importantly, I saw how special Dale was.
In over 25 years of handling clients, Realty Executives was my favorite.

Dale had no ego therefore it was easy for him to make everyone around him feel very, very special. Yet, he was the one who was truly special. Although I hadn't seen him in years, he always remained close to my heart. He still does.

Fondly, Sandy Cowen

I have so many fond memories of you and Dale and the good times we had in Flagstaff. The water exercises every morning for so many years and Dale coming and being our only male. I loved that he would count contrails of the airplanes that flew overhead on a clear day.

To June and Rich and the Rector Family,
What a wonderful memorial tribute to a truely amazing man. I am sure Dale would have loved to see the room full of smiling faces as the family recounted the warm and funny moments in Dale's life. I will remember him with a smile on his face as that is the way I always saw him. Always.
Yes, he was an industry pioneer but also a gentle and humble man and I am proud to be a part of his vision.
